Submarine X3D is a very simple open source and multi-platform X3D editor.

Overview
Submarine X3D is light, cross platform (the package is released for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X)and Open Source editor for developing virtual worlds based on the ISO standard X3D language. Using this application, the user will work in an Integrated Developing Environment (IDE), in which the user has the plain access to the X3D source code, supported by the integrated tools, that are able to facilitate and speed up the development of complex virtual environments.

22 March 2011 - After about two years, we are proud to present the version 2.0 of the Submarine X3D editor. The code has been completely rewritten in the order to further improve the performances and the code portability.

Requirements
Here you can find minimal requirements of Submarine X3D.
Hard Disk: about 10MB of space
OS: Linux Ubuntu 9.10 or higher, Leopard (10.5) or higher, Windows XP or higher
Framework: Sun Java SDK 1.5 or higher (exactly, Submarine X3D version 2.0 is supported by JSDK 1.5 as opposed to Submarine X3D version 1.1 which needs JSDK 1.6)

The Submarine X3D editor is release under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 3. Since the development of the code is based on Java JDK (current used version: 1.6) and NetBeans IDE (current version: 7.0), the legal restrictions on both also apply, in particular the dual license consisting of the Common Development and Distributed License (CDDL) v 1.0 and the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 3.
